Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force to Host 'REACH Across the Table' Event Thursday, Jan. 25
OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 4, 2018) – The Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force will host ‘REACH Across the Table,’ a gathering of community members, Thursday, Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Silver Springs State Park, 5656 E Silver Springs Blvd. This event will provide information on community concerns that impact the ability to accept each other’s differences and ability to come together as one. The theme for this inaugural community event is “trust.”
“The REACH Across the Table event is intended to start a conversation about the issues that hinder our understanding and appreciation of one another,” said Kathy Crile, City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Director. “A healthy relationship and an effective dialogue are contingent upon trust. That’s where it starts. We need to trust one another if we are to have honest, effective conversations. As a community, we need to work on establishing a path toward trust. This is the reason the task force chose “trust” as the topic of conversation for this inaugural community event.”
This event is free and open to the public; registration is required. Parking is free and light meal will be provided. Members of the community truly interested in engaging in dynamic conversation should reserve their seat by registering now at https://reachacrossthetable.eventbrite.com. Conversations from this event will help steer the task force’s goals and objectives for the coming year.
