The Records Section's mission is to maintain the integrity and security of the records entrusted within, serve the public and act as a support unit for the Police Department and to serve each and every customer with respect and excellent customer service.

Copies of incident reports and traffic crash reports may be obtained from the Records Section at the cost of 15 cents for one sided copies and 20 cents for 2 sided copies. Public Records Laws apply. For the first sixty days after a traffic crash, you must provide picture identification to pick up the report, and must have been involved as a driver, passenger, pedestrian, or registered owner of the vehicle or damaged property, and listed on the report

Fingerprinting is done Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The agency that you are being fingerprinted for should provide the fingerprint card, as each agency has a unique number on their cards. The cost of fingerprinting is $5.00 for the first card and $2.00 for each additional card. You must provide picture identification.

Background checks for employment and housing are done during regular business hours. Background will be for the City of Ocala only. You must provide picture identification for this service.

Visa Letters are provided for those applying for Visas to travel overseas. The cost of this service is $4.00, and picture identification is required.  Taxi and Security Permitting, as well as Crime Statistics for Ocala are also provided.  Costs vary for these services.
