I completed a Ride A long today (8/29/13) and I learned a lot about the different calls that come in as well as responsibilities that the officers have to do. It was a great opportunity for me and I was eternally grateful for being able to do such requirements for my classes. Thanks OPD!

My dad, Ray Barrington, was an officer with OPD for many years before we moved to Georgia in 1983. I enjoyed listening to the stories he would tell. He loved being a cop. He passed away in 1997 and we were touched when people from the precinct called to pay their respect. With Father's Day coming up, he was on my mind. Thanks for listening.

My wife and I are traveling from Cedar Rapids Iowa and staying overnight in Ocala. We are going to Cape coral for five weeks.Chief Grahm was our Chief for about five years and I Iwas a sergeant on the CRPD , a helicopter pilot andcharge of our air division for 24 years. I retired in 1995 with 30 years on the Department and had the opportunity to talk to Chief Grahm on a number of occasions. Chief Grahm has been greatly missed, however we knew that he always wanted to get back to Ocala. Best of luck Chief Grahm.

Thank you for looking out for the citizens of Marion County. My family lives there and it comforts me to know that officers are working diligently to protect citizens in the community. I notice your presence when I visit! Thank you for risking it all daily for others! Like my page if you have time, Cops Are Heroes.

My father, LeRoy Strawder served on the Ocala Police Department from 1955 to 1972. He then went to CFCC to teach law enforcement and criminology to area law enforcement officers for the next 20 years. He loved the OPD and always felt most proud of his acheivements while there. We lost him on Dec. 18, 2011, and I asked for the OPD Honor Guard to be at his funeral. Sgt. Eric Hooper and his men did an amazing job, their appearance and professionalism were just outstanding, my father would have been so proud of them.
On behalf of my mother and my family, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Overworker and under paid! It amazes me to no end the scope of an officers job! They honestly handle more situations,in my opinion, than any other field! They are peace keeper, medical help, dog control, traffic control, and the list goes on and on ... to simply say " Thank You" just doesn't seem enough, but Thank you! Thank you each and every single police man AND Woman, Than You for everything you do! Be safe!

I want to thank Officer Williams of the Ocala police department. My purse was stolen today while I was having lunch at Wendy's on S. Pine St. My husband was recovering from surgery in the Ocala Regional Hospital & I was just beside myself! My purse had all my personal information & my husband's (as he gave me his wallet and cash before he went up for surgery). My purse also had my car keys and over $500 in cash as I was going to the bank to make a deposit. Officer Williams was professional and considerate of the situation. I was pretty frazzled! I felt completely violated. Although she wasn't able to catch the thieves, (I wasn't able to provide a license number just the color of the SUV & there were no cameras at the store) she tried every which way to follow up on the crime. I can't tell you how much it meant to have an officer respond so quickly and help us get back to the hospital (I had my 85 year old dad with me). Thank you Officer Williams! I truly appreciate all you did. And I also want to thank Officer Rodriquez, as he assisted with trying to reach the cell phone company so they could "ping" or GPS the phone in my purse. I truly appreciate everything the officers did. I know it is not an easy job, and I want them to know how much I appreciated their efforts.
