On 4/22/13, the Family Dollar at 2370 NW 45th Terrace was robbed by a man with a shotgun.
On April 22, 2013, at approximately 8:33pm, officers responded to the Family Dollar, at 2370 NW 45th Terrace, in reference to a Robbery in progress. Upon arrival, they were informed that an unknown W/M, wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, and dark shoes and a black t-shirt (with two holes cut into it) covering his face, had entered the business wielding what appeared to be a pump action shotgun (wood grain stock and pump).
The suspect pointed the shotgun at the clerks and said, “Give me all the money, now!” One clerk told the suspect she’d do what he wanted, and begged that he not shoot. He then stated, “I don’t want anyone to get hurt, just give me the money.” The clerks opened both cash registers, and emptied all of the $1, $5, and $10 bills into a plastic bag and handed it to the suspect, who then ran out the front door. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
OPD is releasing this surveillance video in the hopes of receiving assistance from the community in identifying and locating this armed robber. Videos can be seen on the OPD Youtube and Facebook pages.

Anyone with information on his identity and/or location is asked to contact Detective Stephanie McQuaig at 352-369-7029.
