Search for:

3 Search Warrants served in the early morning hours of April 23, 2013 resulted in 3 Arrests and the seizure of drugs, weapons and monies.
On today’s date, April 23, 2013, at approximately 5:00 AM, the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team (UDEST), with the assistance of Marion County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, Ocala Police Department SWAT, and the Dunnellon Police Department, executed 3 search warrants on McKinney Ave. in Dunnellon, FL. These search warrants resulted from investigations conducted by Agents with UDEST. The following were arrested as a result:
B/M Rubin Jones, Jr. - DOB 10/30/1956 – Arrested at 20690 W. McKinney Ave.
• Sale Cocaine x 2
• Possession Cocaine x 2
• Possession of Cocaine with intent within 1000 feet of School x 1
• Tampering with Evidence

B/M Joseph Vickers - DOB 11/13/1977 – Arrested at 20717 W. McKinney Ave.
• Sale of Oxycodone x 2
• Possession of Oxycodone x 2
• Possession of Cocaine with intent within 1000 feet of School x 1
• Possession of Firearm by convicted Felon x 2
• Possession of Alprazolam

B/M Charles Thomas, Jr. DOB 01/06/1974 – Arrested at 20717 W. McKinney Ave.
• Possession of Firearm by convicted Felon x 1

Additionally the following currency, drugs and firearms were seized:

• $18,826 in U.S. Currency
• 10 grams Crack Cocaine
• 3.5 grams Powder Cocaine
• Alprazolam Pill x 2
• Firearm (Handgun) x 2
• Firearm (.22 cal-rifle) x 1
• Firearm (Pistol grip Shotgun) x 1

All three were booked into the Marion County Jail on the listed charges – charges on Jones and Vickers stemmed from arrest warrants already obtained by UDEST Agents, plus additional charges added as a result of the search warrants. Thomas’ charges were a result of the early morning search warrants. The house located at 20701 W. McKinney Ave. was unoccupied and found to be a “stash” house; much property was found inside and will be looked into further by MCSO’s Property Crimes Unit in order to determine whether or not the property is stolen.
The success of this operation was due to the great cooperative efforts by the agencies and units listed above.
