| SHOOTING INCIDENT AT OCALA ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX |

A patron shot one of the members of the security staff at the Ocala Entertainment Complex in the early morning hours of February 25, 2013.

On this date, February 25, 2013, at approximately 1:42am, officers responded to the Ocala Entertainment Complex, located at 1227 SW 17th Ave.,in reference to a report of shots fired. The officers found that a member of the security personnel at the establishment had been shot by a patron. The gunshot wound was to the victims shoulder and was non-life threatening.
Investigation revealed that the patron, later identified as B/M Deon R. Sutton, DOB 5/1/85, had become upset with the victim, H/M Josue Santiago, DOB 10/23/87, due to Santiago knocking over his drink. Following a verbal confrontation, Santiago was escorting Sutton out of the establishment when Sutton pulled a gun from his pants. The two struggled over the gun and the gun went off. Santiago was struck by a bullet in the shoulder. Others present helped to restrain Sutton until police arrived.
Santiago's wound was found to be a "through-and-through" and non-life threatening. Sutton was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Carrying a Concealed Firearm and Possession of Marijuana Under 20 Grams, which was found in his possession while he was being treated at a local hospital for minor injuries he sustained during the incident. Sutton was released from the hospital and transported to the Marion County Jail. His bond was set at $22,500.00
