| SECOND ARREST MADE IN AUGUST 2009 HOMICIDE |

Detectives arrest the second suspect in the murder of Robert Lee Shaw, Jr. that occurred on August 10, 2009.

On August 10, 2009, b/m Robert Lee Shaw, Jr., DOB 10/32/71, was shot and killed inside a residence, located at 2037 NW 3rd St., Ocala, FL. Within 24 hours, Detectives with the Ocala Police Department were able to arrest one suspect in the incident, b/m Christopher Breshar Monroe, DOB 12/25/90. Monroe was charged with one count of Homicide, Occurred During Armed Robbery and one count of Armed Robbery.
Information obtained during the investigation indicated the presence of a second suspect in this homicide. During the past months, Detectives have continued to work this case and follow up on leads. This work led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a second suspect on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Detective Mark Hoover arrested b/m Lenthius Daryl Thomas, Jr., DOB 03/27/88 and charged him with one count of Murder.
The Ocala Police Department is happy to be able to successfully close this case with both suspects identified and arrested.
