ROBBERY/ATTEMPTED MURDER
A juvenile suspect is wanted for Attempted Murder and Attempted Armed Robbery from incident on January 7, 2010.
Case #201000004787

On Thursday, January 7, 2010, at approximately 6:20pm, officers from the Ocala Police Department responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at N. Pine Ave. & N.E. 35th St. in reference to a subject having been shot at a nearby apartment complex. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, later identified as w/m Michael Stewart, DOB 10/25/85, being treated by emergency medical personnel. Stewart was flown to Shands Hospital for treatment. Stewart's injury was a gunshot wound to the neck.

Further investigation revealed that the incident had occurred at Deer Run Apartments, located at 2840 NE 4th Court, Ocala. Prior to the shooting, Stewart and a friend had driven in from Tampa and were attempting to sell some speakers in the parking lot of Walmart, 2600 SW 19th Ave. Rd., Ocala. Upon meeting a subject there who advised to wanting to buy the speakers, they followed him back to the apartment complex. Stewart and his friend/co-worker (both work for Alliance Distribution out of Tampa, FL and were driving a company vehicle at the time) parked the Ford Expedition they were driving in front of one of the apartment buildings. The subject who had agreed to buy the speakers then approached the vehicle with another black male. This unknown black male approached the vehicle and put a gun to Stewart's neck through the open driver's side window. The suspect demanded money, and Stewart immediately put the vehicle in gear to flee. As he was fleeing, the suspect fired o!
ne shot, which struck Stewart in the neck.

Stewart is still in the hospital in stable condition.

Detective Mike Green responded to this incident and was able, through investigation, to identify the suspect as b/m juvenile, Kenneth Lydell Jackson, Jr., DOB 02/28/93. Det. Green has probable cause for the arrest of Jackson for one count of Attempted Murder and one count of Attempted Robbery with a Firearm. Jackson, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, is approximately 6'0" tall, 175 - 185 lbs., with his hair in "twisties" and a tatoo of a lion on his right bicep and the work "Leo" written beneath it.
