NEW DRUG SUSPECT IDENTIFICATION WEB PAGE BEING LAUNCHED
Local agencies launch new web page to enlist help of the community in identifying drug dealers.
On Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 8:00 AM, a new web page was launched cooperatively by Crimes Stoppers of Marion County, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Ocala Police Department. This is a partnership between the local Law Enforcement Agencies and Crime Stoppers of Marion County to identify drug dealing suspects throughout the City of Ocala and Marion County. This new tool allows citizens to look at photos of unidentified drug suspects in Ocala/Marion County. If they are able to identify a subject, they may call Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP (7867) or click on the link provided to submit the information through the Crime Stoppers of Marion County website. Once an identification is confirmed AND an arrest is made, then Crimes Stoppers of Marion County would authorize the reward money to the first citizen who had submitted the identification information. Agents from MADET have been working diligently on these cases and want to identify and arrest these suspects. The suspects pictured on the web page have sold drugs to undercover operatives within Marion County, Florida and this new web page allows the agents to now enlist the assistance of the public in identifying and removing these drug dealers from our community. Judge Cochran, PIO for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said, “This is yet another tool for citizens to use in the quest to remove drug dealers from their neighborhoods.
