MAN MAKES DOMESTIC ATTACKS AT 2 LOCATIONS
Officers worked two scenes with one suspect, Joseph Price, in reference to crimes of Domestic Violence on May 29, 2013.
On today’s date, May 29, 2013 at approximately 3:00 PM, officers responded to two different related Domestic Violence scenes. The first was at The Kimberly’s Center, 2800 NE 14th St., where a 10 year old girl ran in seeking help. B/M Joseph Price, DOB 7/17/81, had been waiting in the parking lot for his girlfriend and this child, who had left him recently. He had found out they were going to this location and was in the parking lot with flowers when they arrived. When the female refused to speak to him or get out of the car, Price jumped on the hood of the car and punched his fist through the windshield, striking the female victim in the face. He then struck her in the face several more times and pulled her from the vehicle, which he then jumped into and drove away in.
The second scene is in the 600 block of SE 28th Ave., just south of The Kimberly’s Center. This is where Price drove the victim’s car. Once there, he ran the car he was driving into the car of his next victim, physically moving the parked car & causing damage to both vehicles. Once he crashed the car into a fence, he went to the door of this victim’s apartment and kicked the door in, which had been locked with a deadbolt. The victim inside the apartment, a relative of Price, fired two shots from a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver towards Price. Both shots missed Price, but he immediately went to his stomach on the ground with his hands behind his back – which is the position officers found him in when they arrived.
Price was taken into custody and treated for injuries to his right arm while officers worked both scenes. The first victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Price was transported to OPD where he was interviewed by Detectives.
Detective Miguel Gauthier was assigned the case and as of the time of this release the charges were as follows:
Aggravated Stalking
Aggravated Battery Domestic
Car Jacking
Auto Burglary
Criminal Mischief
Residential Burglary
