IDENTITY THEFT
Detective Jamie Buchbinder is seeking assistance in identifying an Identity Theft suspect.
On March 26, 2013, the Ocala Police Department received a report of an Identity Theft and Grand Theft. The victim in this incident had purchased appliances from Lowe's, located at 4600 E. Silver Springs Blvd. On the date of delivery, March 25, 2013, the Frigidaire 26cu refrigerator she purchased was not delivered. Upon contacting the store to see when she could expect delivery, she was advised that she had already been issued a refund for this purchase. The amount was $2097.84

Information was obtained that on March 23, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm, an unknown white female went into the same Lowe's, presented a Georgia driver's license with the victim's information on it, and initiated a refund for the refrigerator. She received the refund in the form of Lowe's Merchant cards.

Video surveillance of the suspect was obtained from the store. Detective Jamie Buchbinder is investigating and seeking information on the identity of this suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Buchbinder at 352-369-7141. Or phone anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 368-STOP(7867), texted to 274637 using keyword 368STOP or submitted at www.ocalacrimestoppers.com.
