Attempted Murder
A man was arrested by Detective Mathew Steckman for stabbing his nephews pregnant wife on 03/04/13.
Case #201300044139

On yesterday’s date, 03/04/13, at approximately 4:28pm, officers responded to 1025 NE 12th Ave. in reference to a stabbing. The victim, W/F Jill Feingold, DOB 10/13/72, advised the OPD call taker that she was in the bedroom of the residence and had been stabbed over 30 times by her husband’s uncle. Feingold also advised that she was pregnant and that the suspect, W/M Samuel R. Cone, II, DOB 09/03/53, was still in the residence.
Cone was observed walking down the driveway towards the road when the first officer arrived on scene. He was immediately taken into custody. Feingold was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center and told officers that she was 22 weeks pregnant prior to transport.
A search of the residence was conducted and the weapon was located and found to be a filet knife from the kitchen. Cone stated to Detective Mathew Steckman, “I’m sorry for all this. They took all I had.” Det. Steckman found that there is some sort of a dispute in the family in reference to a relative’s estate. The location they were at is not the residence of either, but rather that of another family member.
The victim, Feingold, was transported from ORMC to Shands in Gainesville, FL for treatment of her injuries. As of 8:20am today, it is reported that both she and her unborn child remain in critical condition.
Cone was charged by Det. Steckman with one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. He was booked in at the Marion County Jail with no bond.
