Search Warrants Served on Cyber Cafés - Update
Another person is arrested in reference to the State Gambling Laws on 06/25/09.
On yesterday’s date, June 25, 2009, search warrants were served and arrests were made by members of the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET) at two locations of a business called “Cyber Zone Café”. An undercover investigation had been conducted due to multiple citizen complaints, and resulted in findings of multiple violations of State Gambling Laws.

As a result of these efforts, four (4) people were arrested. At each location 38 computers and 1 ATM machine were seized, for a total of 76 computers and 2 ATM machines.

Later, on that same date, another person – a manager/investor – did turn himself in at the Marion County Jail on the warrant that had been obtained for his arrest in reference to these cyber cafés. The information on the arrestee is as follows:
1. W/M Brian J. Casey, DOB 07/06/68 (Manager/Investor)
2 Counts of - Keeping gambling houses – 3rd Degree Felony
2 Counts of - Possession of Coin operated devices for the purpose of gambling – 2nd Degree Misdemeanor

Once again, the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET) will continue to work with the State Attorney’s Office to identify other businesses in our jurisdiction that are violating these Gambling Laws and take appropriate action.
