Arrest for Strong Arm Robbery
Officer Doug Russell and Detective Michael Bowman arrested Tony L. Taylor in reference to a Strong Arm Robbery and other charges on 2/26/13.
On 2/25/13, a report was made of a b/m stealing a bottle of malt liquor from a store located at 2066 SW Silver Springs Blvd. When confronted by store personnel, a struggle ensued and the suspect was able to still flee with the item. Officer Doug Russell viewed the video of the incident from the store and was able to identify the suspect as being Tony Lytrail Taylor, DOB 9/24/63, who is known to him.

On 2/26/13, Officer Russell was able to locate Taylor at NW 8th Place and N. Pine Ave. Upon making contact, Taylor gave Officer Russell a false name and fled on foot. Officer Russell was able to catch him and in the course of the chase, Taylor pulled a knife from his pocket and threw it on the ground.

Once in custody, Taylor was taken to the Ocala Police Department where he was interviewed by Detective Michael Bowman. During the course of this investigation, Taylor was also identified as the suspect who had stolen a bicycle from Target, 2000 SW College Rd., on this date, 2/26/13.

Upon being transported to the Marion County Jail, Taylor was charged by Detective Bowman with one count of Strong Arm Robbery, by Officer Russell with one count of Resisting without Violence and one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and by Officer Keith Jarvis with one count of Felony Retail Theft - Petit.
