Armed Robbery
An Armed Robbery occurred at the Shell Station, located at 3130 SE 36th Ave., just after midnight on 12/06/12.
Case #201200222023

On today’s date, 12/06/12, at approximately 12:47 AM, Ocala Police Department officers responded to the Shell Station/Sunshine Food Mart , located at 3130 SE 36th Ave., Ocala, FL, in reference to an Armed Robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers found that the suspect had fled the scene. A K-9 track was attempted, with negative results.
The store clerk advised that a black male in his late 20’s to 30’s , black hair, brown eyes, approximately 5’10” with a thin build and wearing a white, button-down style shirt with dark plaid stripes, long black shorts, white athletic shoes and a black ball cap, came into the store and approached the counter indicating intent to purchase a t-shirt. As the clerk began to ring him up, the subject pulled out a silver colored semi-automatic handgun, pointed it at the clerk and began climbing over the counter into the cashier’s booth while demanding “all the paper money”. The clerk opened the register and handed the suspect all the cash from the register and the suspect then tore off several different types of scratch-off lottery tickets. The suspect ordered the clerk to open the booth door for him and then fled from the store.
There were no injuries as a result of this robbery and the suspect is still unknown at this time. Full video is not available at this time, however we do have one still photo. Anyone who has information in reference to this incident and/or the identity of the suspect can call the Ocala Police Department at 352-369-7000 or contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP(7867) or www.ocalacrimestoppers.com to remain anonymous.
