Armed Robbery X 2
On Friday, May29, 2009, just after 3:30 AM, both the Kangaroo and the Waffle House, located in the 3800 block of SW College Rd., were robbed at gun point.
On today’s date, at approximately 3:29 AM the Ocala Police Department responded to 3871 SW College Road (SR200) Waffle House and 3873 SW College road Kangaroo/ Chevron in reference to a robbery that just occurred. When Officers arrived they were advised by the clerk of the Kangaroo that a B/M entered the store with a large revolver and demanded the cash receipts from the cash register. The suspect went behind the counter and threatened the clerk with the gun. The clerk cooperated and handed over the money. The suspect ordered the clerk to follow him out side after taking the money. The suspect then fled west bound to the rear of the store. The clerk fled in the opposite direction across SW 38th Avenue toward another nearby store. The clerk of the Kangaroo encountered a second B/M exiting the Waffle House who was armed with a shotgun. The clerk continued to flee across 38th Avenue and advised of hearing one gun shot. The clerk from Kangaroo called 911 from across the street. The Ocala Police Department also received a 911 call from Waffle House advising it had been robbed at the same time the Kangaroo was. The fleeing clerk from Kangaroo encountered the Waffle House suspect as he fled. The suspect from the Waffle House entered the store that was occupied by two employees and four patrons. The suspect announced he wanted the money and went behind the counter. The suspect threatened a clerk with the shotgun. The clerk opened the register and the suspect took the money and fled the store. The suspect who entered the Kangaroo is described as a B/M 5 foot 7 inches tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, black pants and a black hood. The suspect from the Waffle House is described a B/M between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a red shirt, black sweat shirt, open in the front and brown shorts.
