Don't Drive Impaired this 4th of July Holiday
OPD STARTS 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY IMPAIRED DRIVER CAMPAIGN JUNE 20, 2011 THRU JULY 4, 2011.
OPD STARTS 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY IMPAIRED DRIVER CAMPAIGN JUNE 20, 2011 THRU JULY 4, 2011.

The Ocala Police Department is warning our citizens of the dangers and consequences of driving while impaired. In 2009, someone in the United States died in an alcohol-impaired-driving crash every 48 minutes according to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

During the July 4th Holiday, alcohol is a major factor in fatal crashes. In 2009 there were 410 fatalities reported in the United States during the Fourth of July holiday period.

This summer don’t let your 4th of July end in an arrest , or worse! The Ocala Police Department will be implementing a zero tolerance policy for impaired driving. We will be cracking down, and there will be no second chances. If you are caught driving with a BAC of .08 or higher, you will be arrested.
