ARMED ROBBERY ARRESTS
Detective Mark Hoover arrested 3 people in reference to 2 different robbery cases.
On November 27, 2010 the A & M Discount Beverage, located at 1898 NE 24th St., was robbed at gunpoint. The clerk was working behind the counter when she heard the door open. She turned around she observed (2) unknown males, running from the entrance to the checkout counter. Both unknown males were wearing black in color ski masks, black hooded sweat shirts, dark in color pants and black shoes. The fist unknown male was armed with a black in color hand gun and the second was seen carrying a black in color bag. The clerk advised that as they approached the counter the first suspect pointed the firearm at her and stated, "Get down on your knees!" As she did so, the second suspect jumped over the counter and approached her from behind, stood her up and walked her to the cash register where she was told to empty the cash into the bag he was holding. The total amount of money taken from the store was approximately #1,860.00. The robbers told the clerk to get back on her knees and they then fled the scene.

During the investigation, an anonymous tip was received indicating that w/m Jesse Jennings, DOB 03/14/85, and h/m Gabriel Pagan, DOB 02/20/86 were involved in the robbery. These subjects were subsequently located and interviewed by Detective Mark Hoover. Both advised to committing the robbery; Pagan stated that they were forced to do the robbery by 3 unknown males, but Jennings advised that he and Pagan robbed the store because they needed the money. Both Pagan and Jennings were arrested by Det. Hoover for 1 count of Armed Robbery.

In addition, as a result of this robbery investigation, Det. Hoover was able to make an arrest in a case from October 3, 2009, where the girlfriend of Jesse Jennings, w/f Jessie Lee Redwood, DOB 04/09/87, reported being robbed. Redwood reported that while at 2800 E Silver Springs Blvd, Regions Bank, an unknown male approached her vehicle while she was depositing the bank drop for Kangaroo Express, 225 NE 28 Ave, and punched her in the face, took the bank deposit and fled on foot. The deposit was for $14,000.00. Det. Hoover learned that this robbery did not happen and that Redwood had actually stolen the money. He arrested Redwood and charged her with 1 count of Grand Theft and 1 count of False Report to Law Enforcement.

The Ocala Police Department is happy to have successfully closed both of these cases by arrest and is thankful to the assistance of the community.
