Toys R Us Burglary
On 10/17/10, the Toys R Us on College Road in Ocala was burglarized and thousands of dollars worth of merchandise stolen.
On Sunday, October 17, 2010, at approximately 6:00 am, Officer Jose Gonzalez responded to the Toys R Us, located at 2800 SW College Road, Ocala in reference to a burglary that had occurred in the early morning hours. Employees had arrived for work that morning and found one of the glass display cases that held Apple iPod products to have been shattered. Additionally, it was found that a portion of the glass to one of the entrance doors had been shattered, which appeared to be the point of entry and exit for the burglars. A second glass case had also been shattered which had held Nintendo merchandise and Blu-ray movies.

Surveillance of the store does show an unknown black male suspect who appeared to be wearing a green shirt, blue denim pants, black shoes, a dark mask, and a red backpack. He is seen crawling on the floor, smashing the glass to one of the display cases and fleeing the store shortly afterwards. The store will be providing a copy of this surveillance to the assigned investigator, Detective James Deas, as soon as possible, but we do not have it at this time. The video will be release as soon as it is available.

The merchandise taken during the burglary is as follows:

10 Apple iPod products
12 Nintendo products
29 Blu-ray movies

Total value of items stolen is approximately $4,900.00.
