| SEEKING NEXT OF KIN IN FATALITY |

OPD is releasing information on the identity of a subject from a fatal crash in the hopes of locating family members.
|
On August 21, 2010 at approximately 10:29 PM, the Ocala Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic crash in the 1400 block of SW 17th St., Ocala. The pedestrian did not survive this crash. A brief synopsis of the crash is as follows:
The pedestrian subject was walking on the north side of SW 17th St. It is unknown if he was crossing the road or just walking on the roadway. Mrs. Patricia Jordan was operating her 2002 Lincoln car westbound on SW 17th St., in the outside westbound lane. Mrs. Jordan hit the pedestrian with the front right of her car. The pedestrian came upon the vehicle and hit the right pillar with the right side of his head. He was then thrown onto the north shoulder of the road and came to final rest about 20 feet north of the roadway.
Traffic Investigator, Corporal Leonard Griggs, has been diligently searching for a next of kin for the victim since the date of the crash. All efforts to notify have been exhausted and we have been unsuccessful in locating a next of kin. Due to this, we are now releasing the name of the pedestrian victim in the hopes of locating family members. His identity information is as follows:

DOB 11/10/1951
