Two Month MADET Investigation Results in Multiple Arrests
Multiple suspects arrested on drug charges by MADET during two month operation.
The Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET), which is comprised of sworn agents from both the Ocala Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Office, has been conducting a two month long investigation into street level drug sales within the city limits of Ocala. The investigation began as a result of the receipt of numerous complaints and tips in reference to drug activity in multiple locations in West Ocala. On Friday, August 20, 2010, the investigation reached it's final culmination with two search warrants being served and a final round-up of individuals who had been selling illegal narcotics. The two search warrants were served at 25 NW 20th Ave. and 1968 NW 1st St. The round-up centered around the same area, as well as the area of NW 20th Ave. & NW 12th St. In total, 16 suspects were arrested in the round-up of drug dealers, dubbed "Operation Time's Up", and two others were arrested at the search warrants.
