|

On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at approximately 12:34 pm, officers from the Ocala Police Department responded to 2516 NE 11th Ct., in reference to a Burglary in progress. Information from a witness advised that a Hispanic male and a black male were seen jumping the fence and entering the property, then leaving in a white Ford Taurus. Upon arriving in the area, Cpl. Nigel Hardy and Sgt. Robie Bonner observed the vehicle and were able to conduct a traffic stop and detain the occupants.
Further investigation at the residence revealed an outside shed that had been broken into. In plain view, officers observed marijuana plants inside of the shed. Upon speaking with the subjects detained in the Ford Taurus, information was gained that they had broken into the shed due to being informed that the person(s) who live there were growing marijuana inside of it. The two subjects were identified as b/m Fredric L. Wallace, DOB 10/08/74 and H/m Ismael Borrego, DOB 05/23/82. Both were arrested and charged with one count each of Residential Burglary.
Due to the observation of marijuana plants growing in the shed, the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET) was notified and did respond to the residence. In addition to the plants seen in the building, an electrical conduit was observed running from the main residence to the shed. Agent M. Diesso of MADET, and an Ocala Police Department Officer, obtained a search warrant for the location.
While executing the search warrant, a Hispanic male arrived on scene and identified himself as the resident. He was identified as H/m Odenis Cuello, DOB 09/09/74, originally from Cuba. He spoke little English; therefore a Spanish speaking officer was called to the scene to interpret. Cuello was found to be the resident since 2008, and advised that the marijuana is his. He also advised to purposely diverting power to the shed and stealing the power from Ocala Electric Utilities. Agents located 15 mature marijuana plants inside of the shed that had a total weight of 33 pounds.
Cuello, the victim in the Burglary, was placed under arrest and charged with one count each of Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Property for the Use in Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Grand Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Marion County Jail were he was booked in, as were the two subjects who broke into his shed.
