Four Arrested for Multiple Auto Burglaries
Detectives arrested four people who commited multiple auto burglaries in Ocala on June 8, 2010.
On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, the Ocala Police Department received reports of multiple auto burglaries at the Marion County Dog Park, 2513 SE 32nd Ave. (1 vehicle), the City of Ocala Aquatics Center, 2390 SE 36th Ave. (2 vehicles), Ritterhoff Park, 1410 SE 17th St. (1 vehicle), and the campus of the College of Central Florida, 3001 SW College Rd. (2 vehicles). In all the cases purses and/or wallets were taken, along with other small portable items of value.

In all of these incidents witnesses described a black Dodge Avenger fleeing the area. The vehicle was described as having tinted windows and being occupied by 3 black males and driven by a white female. As a result of a BOLO issued on the vehicle, Detective Miguel Gauthier was able to locate the car and stop it on I-75, just south of SR200. All four subjects were detained at that time. In plain view in the vehicle were items from Checkers and a receipt in the amount of $24.54. The victim of the auto burglary at Ritterhoff Park had advised that her credit card had been used at Checkers for that amount at 3:03 PM. All of the subjects were taken to the Ocala Police Department for questioning. The investigation revealed further information that the four subjects had committed the auto burglaries listed above. The vehicle they were in was rented from Alamo Car Rental, who were contacted and informed of the situation; the company gave consent for a full search of the vehicle.

The search of the vehicle revealed numerous identification cards, driver’s licenses, credit cards, checks and other personal documents belonging to the victims in these cases, as well as belonging to victims from cases being worked by the Lake City Police Department, Gainesville Police Department, and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. All of the subjects are continuing to be investigated by the Ocala Police Department and several other agencies throughout the state for burglaries, thefts and frauds of this nature.

The current charges on each are 6 counts of Auto Burglary and 6 counts of Petit Theft. Their identities are as follows:

• W/F Tammy Bloodsaw, DOB 11/2/77, from Pompano Beach, FL
• B/M Gary Burgess, DOB 12/17/83, from Pompano Beach, FL
• B/M Alfred V. Bridgett, DOB 07/14/79, from Delray Beach, FL
• B/M Christopher Whitehead, DOB 01/16/80, from Pompano Beach, FL

All were transported to the Marion County Jail, booked on the listed charges and held without bond. All booking photos can be obtained at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office website.
