Registered Sexual Offender Arrested on New Charges
On Monday, May 17, 2010, Detective Jorge Fernandez arrested a registered Sexual Offender for sexual offenses against a minor.
On May 6, 2010 a report was made to the Ocala Police Department that b/m Jacob Alexander Wilkerson, DOB 02/18/74, had committed a sexual battery on a 14 year old girl. In December of 2009, Wilkerson grabbed the victim, his "step-daughter", while in the living room of their home. He raped her on the floor before she went to school that day according to the report, and the victim advised she told no one at that time because she was afraid of Wilkerson. The victim's mother had taken her to the doctor's office on the date of the report and had discovered the victim to be pregnant. The victim then disclosed to her mother what had occurred. They immediately came to the Ocala Police Department to make this report. Detective Jorge Fernandez was assigned to the case and was able to develop probable cause for the arrest of Wilkerson for Sexual Battery and Cruelty Towards Child (Child Abuse)/Over 21 Impregnating a child under 16. During the course of the investigation, Wilkerson placed blame on the victim for what had occurred. Wilkerson was located at his home on today's date, May 17, 2010, with the assistance of Probation and Parole. He was placed under arrest and declined to speak with Detective Fernandez about this case. He was transported to the Marion County Jail . Wilkerson is a registered Sexual Offender and was previously convicted of Sexual Battery on a Person Under 16 Years of Age (Principal). He was currently on Drug Offender Probation, and was additionally arrested on 2 counts of Violation of Probation by his Probation Officer.
