The Economic/Sex Crimes Unit handles complex and lengthy criminal investigations into such offenses including, but not limited to: Fraud, Forgeries, Identity Theft, Counterfeiting, Theft, Sexual Battery, Juvenile Sex Crimes, Child Abuse/Neglect, and Internet Crimes Against Children.

 The Unit establishes and maintains close working relations with local financial institutions, the FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security, Department of Children and Families, the Child Advocacy Center, the Child Protection Team and local law enforcement agencies.

 The goals of the unit are to thoroughly investigate and close the cases assigned to the unit and educate the community about how to not become a victim.
