City of Ocala Reports a Spill of Public Access Reuse Water
OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2018) – Friday, Feb. 23, the City of Ocala Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water, which has been contained. This spill occurred at the City of Ocala Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) reuse site, 3001 SW 67th Ave., and involved approximately 15,000 gallons of public access reuse water, which is used for irrigation purposes.
The water involved in the spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public or surrounding area. According to City officials, this spill was caused when a coupling failed on the ARFF reuse storage tank. The coupling is slated to be repaired next week.
